With tax season soon approaching, we're starting to field questions about how tax refunds work when you're trying to get a car. Chiefly: can you used your tax refund to get a car, or, similarly, can you use your refund as part of your downpayment? While all car dealerships and Buy Here Pay Here dealers are different, and state law regulates what a dealer can and cannot offer you, at Easton Motors, we work with refunds all the time--often before our guests even get their check.
What Else Will I Need?
In most cases, a dealer may want to see past tax statements and refunds, and more likely than not, they will still require that you provide proof of current income and employment, a list of references, and a valid driver's license. That said, using your tax refund to get a car can be a good solution to the upfront cash that is needed to purchase a vehicle.
