As the ground begins to thaw around the state of Wisconsin, we want to take some time to introduce each Easton Motors dealership, and share a little bit about how each location operates, including giving you auto financing tips from our team of finance specialists and branch managers, plus give you an idea of what to expect when you arrive at one of our lots.

For our first foray into this new dealership spotlight series, we’re proud to introduce you to Easton Motors of Baraboo.

About Easton Motors of Baraboo

Established in 2003, Easton Motors of Baraboo proudly serves the towns and cities surrounding Baraboo including but not limited to: Reedsburg, Wisconsin Dells, Wonewoc, Richland Center, Madison, Mauston, Lyndon Station, Fitchburg, Mt. Horeb, Middleton, Lake Delton, and Avoca.

As one of five Easton Motors used car dealerships and finance centers, our Baraboo branch benefits from sharing a large inventory of late-model, low-mileage vehicles, as well as in-house auto lending programs with our four sister locations. You can find us conveniently located at 675 West Pine Street, across from the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center in Baraboo.

Our Finance Specialist’s Pro-Tips for Getting a Car Loan

At our Baraboo location, you’ll find Vickie Jones, along with a small team of finance specialists, holding down the fort. As Branch Manager for Easton Motors of Baraboo, Vickie has personally packaged hundreds of used car loans for drivers with bad credit, and has lots of valuable things to share with anyone who is interested in financing a car. Regarding getting a car loan, Vickie says, “My personal pro tips for getting a car loan with bad credit are: bring as much complete biographical information as possible with you to your finance appointment, including proof of income, a utility bill with your address on it (especially if you recently moved), and a valid license for the state you reside in.”

The Best Advice She’s Ever Given

With the basics aside, Vickie notes that, “The greatest advice I can give is to hold the same employment for a longer period of time as well as show stability of residency. Even if you’re having a bit of trouble getting your credit score up, at least you have these two crucial forms of consistency in your favor. It’s also always a good idea to have something saved up to apply towards a down payment.”

Vickie notes that people don’t often take into account that a good chunk of someone’s down payment will be first applied to vehicle tax, title, and registration (so guests aren’t paying interest on those smaller bills), so the larger the down payment, the more you can actually put towards your actual vehicle costs.

Understand How We Pull Your Credit

The Baraboo team also stresses that it’s important for prospective buyers to understand how their credit is typically pulled—and how it’s done at Easton Motors. When someone goes to a traditional dealership, that dealer usually processes a loan application by shopping that loan out to lots of prospective banks. Each time one of those banks processes your application, your credit will take a hit. If you’re considering applying at lots of different dealerships for an auto loan, think twice—especially if you have bad credit.
