Discover Easton Motors of Portage

As we continue to deep-dive into our dealership spotlight series, we hope that the information in these blog posts are helpful whether you choose to do business with Easton Motors, or another company specializing in helping drivers with bad credit get transportation. At the end of the day, we hope to be a resource for you as you start (or continue) down the path of forming healthy financial habits.

And now, without further ado, let’s learn about Easton Motors of Portage!

History of Our Portage Location

Easton Motors of Portage is located in Portage, Wisconsin, and was established in December 2003. Formerly a Hardee’s restaurant, we’re in a prime location that’s easy to find on the north end of town. If you’re near Portage Senior High, Pierce’s, or the Portage Walmart, then you can probably see us from your car.

Where Our Customers Come From

We typically serve the areas surrounding Portage including: Madison, Janesville, Beloit, Sun Prairie, Lodi, DeForest, Dalton, Endeavor, Westfield, Montello, Stevens Point, Neshkoro and Oxford. Getting to us should be pretty easy for most folks as there are two exits from Interstate 39, and if you are travelling on Highway 51, you will pass right through the center of town on your way to us on the north end.

Your Experience At Our Branch

We prefer to set an appointment for our customers to meet with one of our finance specialists, but of course, an appointment isn't necessary—walk-ins are always welcome!

To better prepare for your appointment, we ask that you provide proof of income, your WI Driver’s License, and contact information for eight personal references. Additionally, the more information you can provide about your current financial situation, the more we will be able to accurately fit your budget and find you the right vehicle for your own situation.

As with our sister locations, we don’t focus on the sale—we focus on you, the customer, and how to help you resuscitate your finances. Our ultimate goal is to put you into a reliable vehicle that fits your needs and your budget. Once you’re up and running in your new car, we also offer convenient automatic payments to match your pay schedule so you can have a stress-free loan with no worries about remembering when you need to make a payment.

Every experience is different for each customer as we aim to help each and every person who comes to us based on their own individual circumstances. For a more favorable approval, we ask our customers to bring in a down payment to help cover tax, title and license fees at the time of sale. You can read up on our finance process on our main website, or visit our Frequently Asked Questions page to discover more answers to popular questions about how we work.

Pro-Tips From Our Branch Manager

Our current Branch Manager is Suzi Cuff, a native Portage, WI resident who’s been at the company for three and a half years. Suzi gives the following advice for those seeking auto financing with bad credit:

The best advice I can give to our customers is to plant your feet firmly in a location you love and a job that serves you well.  When applying for a loan with less than stellar credit, it’s very important to have stability of residence and employment. We do not base our decision on your credit score.  It is our job to help you obtain your first auto loan or re-build your credit.  We are willing to take a higher risk on you as a person and help you obtain financing when regular retail dealerships will not. The easiest way for that to happen is to build your roots to give us a good foundation to work with.
